Senior Specialist Accounts Payable

SUMMARY

This position supports the Finance Shared Services Accounts Payable organization with administration and implementation of improvements that combine accounts payable best practices with scalable, sustainable and streamlined end-to-end processes.  Lead on special projects including integration of merger and acquisitions.  Provides process and technical direction for projects and information needs related to Accounts Payable. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Acts as an AP and SAP (Open Text, VIM), PDI, and other AP related systems (e.g. Ecova, Verisae) subject matter lead in order to assist with identifying solutions for mergers, acquisitions, & divestitures activity and continued process improvements.

2.Provides technical direction for special projects and information needs related to AP and associated accounting issues.

3.Knowledgeable of all AP processes (Commodities, Non-PO, PO, Retail, PDI, Freight, Documentation Distribution, Service Entries, Accounting, etc.); providing advanced adhoc and issue resolution support.

  4.Represents AP in cross functional initiatives.

  5.Prepares and presents training documentation and leads employee training on process or system changes being implemented

  6.Collaborates with team and stakeholders on projects

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION 

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or related field required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Accounts Payable.
  • Experience in process improvement initiatives preferred.
  • SAP experience required.
  • Industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Travel may be required.
