Position Summary:        

The Analyzer Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for but not limited to directly supervising and providing leadership to maintenance analyzer mechanics and analyzer repairs in the Anacortes Refinery with a strong emphasis on reliability and safety. This position requires maintaining and improving equipment reliability, cost effectiveness, and productivity by supervising craftspeople on a daily basis. The Analyzer Maintenance Supervisor will ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner and will support this by utilizing a high degree of technical competency, shared purpose and assist key personnel as required.  This position will be expected to create and maintain records, spare parts inventory, and identify equipment and reliability program improvements, and also assist with qualifications and training for analyzer mechanics. The Maintenance Analyzer Supervisor will provide input into the design of new or modified applications, assist in ensuring adherence to refinery standards and codes, work closely with new capital and TAR projects, environmental and regulatory compliance groups, as well as providing backup o the Instrumentation and Electrical Supervisors.



At least five (5) years of experience working with process and environmental analyzers and sample conditioning systems in a petroleum refinery or chemical plant, with previous supervisory experience preferred. Requires good understanding and troubleshooting abilities of analyzer equipment and systems. This includes, but not limited to gas chromatographs, PH, O2, NOX, H2S, and SO2. Must have excellent organizational, prioritizing and communication skills, and must have the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects while meeting deadlines. Demonstrated ability in developing, executing and maintaining standards of high performance. Must have the ability to lead and motivate direct reports and peers. Must be proficient with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and business software. Candidates must have high level analytical, team working and problem solving skills. Experience supervising workers represented by a collective bargaining agreement is preferred.  


2 years of technical school training or 2 to 4 year AA/BA degree in related field preferred. 



Additional Duties:

Active participation of  Departmental safety meetings and actions

Reviews and participates in near miss/incident investigations and resolution

Reviews and updates Maintenance-assigned Safety Regulations and Procedures

Participates in or conducts area and Facilitates and updates weekly Planning and Scheduling meeting

Coordinates weekly manpower allocation

Contractor coordination and facilitation of work

Overviews and tracks routine Maintenance manpower and budget 

Participating member of Engineering/Maintenance leadership Team

Reviews and facilitates Maintenance training requirements

Functional/demonstrated ability with SAP system preferred
