Job Description

Serves the customers in a fast, efficient, courteous manner. Keeps food service area clean and well stocked. Works as a team and supports the management staff in reaching the store's goals. Maintains food service standards in food preparation.

Major Job Tasks

 

1.     Organizes and supplies food condiment area.  Prepares fast food items for customer consumption.  Keeps fountain and food service areas clean.

2.     Keeps food service area clean, stocked and in excellent condition at all times.  Maintains high cleaning standards, which includes food service area and equipment.  Cleans all spills to remove safety hazards. 

3.     Accurately operates cash register and follows all cash handling procedures.  Properly and accurately accounts for all sales transactions.  Maintains accurate inventory through correct pricing. 

4.     Acknowledges all customers and provides the highest level of customer service including greeting, suggestive selling, thanks and return which maintaining a high degree of professionalism.

5.     Practices preventative safety procedures to maintain an accident free workplace.  Responds appropriately to emergency situations and report all accidents. 

6.     Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

1.     Mathematical skill to count, copy, and record figures.

2.     Skill in operating various machines typical in the retail setting, such as cash register and food preparation equipment.

3.     Written communication skill to fill out routine forms and records.

4.     Oral communication skill to give, receive, or exchange information with co-workers, customers, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.

5.     Interpersonal communication skill to work effectively with others in order to coordinate activities and complete assigned tasks.

6.     Ability to read and understand written instructions, memos, and procedure manuals.

7.     Ability to follow specific, step-by-step instructions, standard procedures, and operating guidelines.

8.     Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed oral and written instructions.

9.     Ability to concentrate on the task being done in spite of distractions from others.

10.  Ability to identify routine problems and situations that require a decision.

11.  Ability to provide a high level of customer service to by waiting on customers in a courteous manner and on a timely basis.

12.  Ability to work effectively with close and/or general supervisory guidance.

13.  Ability to provide food handler's permit, if required.

Education and Experience

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 0 - 12 months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
