Summary

Performs duties as assigned to support Tesoro’s rail functions; this role may include support of the rail scheduling, rail maintenance and/or rail invoice processing functions.

Responsibilities

  1. Reconciles invoices by comparing to actual volumes transported, published tariffs, and contractual terms.  Works with rail operations, refining, and commercial teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies affecting rail related costs.  Communicates variances and resolutions to appropriate personnel.
  2. Provides management with actionable accounting analysis to effectively control rail costs.  Conducts rail invoice auditing; rail demurrage auditing and rail detention auditing. Works with suppliers and rail carriers to resolve accounting disputes.
  3. Process Empty Freight, First Freight and Loaded Chemical Freight invoices.
  4. Provide freight rates to Commercial, setup rates with MDU, and negotiate rates with Railroads.
  5. Provides Rail Accounting support to internal customers including Transportation Accounting, Crude Accounting, Product Accounting, BSC & ACS departments.
  6. Ensures documentation adheres to solid accounting practice and/or GAAP requirements. Performs job duties in accordance with Andeavor’s guiding principles of Core Values, Shared Value, Superior Execution, Powerful Collaboration, and Exceptional People.
  7. Collect required information and create monthly scorecard reports for rail operations. Other reporting duties as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor’s degree required

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 1 year of SAP experience
  • Excel Skill level (minimum Intermediate)
  • Self-Starter
  • Familiar with ShipXpress software a plus.
